A5.1.2 The AI assistant

The AI assistant settings control when the AI assistant is visible in Vertibid and where it appears on screen. Open them from Settings > General in the left navigation, under the AI assistant heading.

These settings are personal. They apply immediately and are saved on the device you are using; they do not change what other users see. The sections below describe each setting in the order it appears on the page.

Visibility

Controls when the AI assistant is visible in the interface. Always show keeps the assistant available on every page. Hidden removes it from every page, including the Ask AI button in the top bar. Default: Always show.

A user who works mostly in the quote builder and finds the assistant panel taking up space sets Visibility to Hidden; the panel and the top-bar button disappear until they set it back to Always show.

Placement

Controls where the AI bar appears on screen when Visibility is Always show.

  • Bottom bar — a floating card at the bottom centre of the screen.

  • Right panel — a fixed panel on the right side of the screen.

Default: Right panel.

Conversation tabs

Controls whether more than one conversation with the assistant can be open at once. Enabled shows conversations as tabs so the user can switch between them. Disabled keeps one conversation. Default: Disabled.

To hide the AI assistant

Procedure

  1. In the left navigation, select Settings, then General.

  2. Under AI assistant, in Visibility, select Hidden.

The assistant closes and the Ask AI button leaves the top bar. To restore it, return to the same setting and select Always show.

To move the AI assistant to the bottom of the screen

Before you begin

  • Visibility is set to Always show. Placement has no effect while the assistant is hidden.

Procedure

  1. In the left navigation, select Settings, then General.

  2. Under AI assistant, in Placement, select Bottom bar.

The assistant reappears as a floating card at the bottom centre of the screen on every page.

For the theme settings on the same page, see A5.1.1 Appearance.
