B1.1 Tenders and frameworks

The Tender product works on two kinds of object, each with its own page in the Tenders group of the left navigation.

Tender

A tender is a customer's request that you respond to. You start one by uploading a bill of quantities, and you can add supporting documents such as specifications, drawings and pricing schedules. Tenders live on the Tenders page; see B3 Tenders.

Framework

A framework is an approved supplier agreement and its pricing schedule. A framework is in one of two states, chosen when you add it:

  • Won — you upload the framework workbook as an approved reference. The framework appears on the Approved tab of the Frameworks page.

  • Bidding — you are bidding for the framework. It runs the same flow as a tender and appears on the Bidding tab.

Frameworks live on the Frameworks page; see B4 Frameworks.

What they share

Tenders and frameworks share your product catalog and your customers, documented in Part A — Shared.
