Vertibid

B1.3 Material matching

Material matching is the stage where Vertibid compares the line items in a tender's bill of quantities against your product catalog and proposes a product for each. It runs automatically after extraction; you then review the proposals on the tender's match workbench.

How a line item is matched

Each line item — a requirement — is matched to the catalog product that best fits its description and specifications, with a confidence score. The matched product and its alternatives are shown on the match workbench, where you accept or replace each one. Accepted products flow into the response workbook. See B3.3 Working a tender.

What matching depends on

Matching depends on your catalog being loaded and current. A requirement for a product that is not in the catalog cannot be matched; see A3 Products.
