Every quote carries a version number, shown as a chip next to its name — v1 for a newly created quote. Versions let you revise a quote you have already issued without altering the copy the customer received.
How versions appear

On the Quotes page, a quote with more than one version is shown as one row with an expander — for example 3 versions — that opens the family.

On a quote, the version chip sits beside the name, and a version switcher at the top right moves between versions in the family.
What a version is
All versions of a quote share the same quote reference, for example QUO-2026-0018. Each version is a separate document: changes to one version do not change another, and a new version does not carry over the record of emails sent from the old one.
When to create a version
Create a new version when a customer wants changes to a quote you have already issued. A sent quote is locked; the new version opens as a fresh draft with the lines and details you choose to carry over. For the procedure, see C2.9 Copying and versioning a quote.
You sent QUO-2026-0018 v1 last week and the customer asks for a longer validity. You create v2, change Valid until, and send it. On the Quotes page the two versions sit under one row.
