The Quote builder tab is where you assemble and edit a quote: the customer and terms at the top, the line items below, and the totals. It is the tab a quote opens on. Its badge shows how many lines the quote has. Once a quote has been sent and locked, the builder is read-only; see C2.8.
The quote header
Above the tabs, every quote shows:
-
The quote name, its version chip (v1, v2 …), its status, and — once sent — Issued with the date. A pencil beside the name renames the quote.
-
The quote reference and the name of the quote template it was created from.
-
A saving indicator — Saving…, Unsaved changes or Saved. Changes save as you make them.
-
Preview — opens the quotation as it will print.
-
The version switcher and Version or duplicate; see C2.9.
Customer
Shows the customer with their Contact, Email, Phone, Billing address and Delivery address. The pencil opens a search to choose a different customer; a second control removes the customer.
Dates & terms
Valid until, Payment terms, Delivery, Cover note and Customer ref / PO. The pencil opens them for editing. Payment terms, delivery and validity start from the defaults on the quote template; the cover note is chosen from the template's cover message library.
Items
The line-item grid, headed Items with the line count. Controls above the grid:
-
Customer lines — when on, the customer's original wording is shown under each matched line.
-
Show notes — when on, line notes are shown under their lines.
-
Search items… — finds a line by its text.
-
Manufacturer filter — shows only lines from the chosen manufacturers.
-
Add from catalog — opens a panel to search your catalog by product name, MPN or supplier code and add lines.

Total price, Discount, Discounted price and Total. Where the quote sells in a currency other than your costs, the Currency conversion panel holds the exchange rates and asks you to confirm before changing the sell currency.
